The Role Operating two properties within close proximity for an aggregation of 6,000 hectares, the established family business holds work ethic and manners in the highest regard. Cereal and Broad Bean are dryland-cropped on 1,400 hectares, with all harvested crop stored within the 8,000 tonnes of on-farm storage to be outloaded throughout the year. Additionally, seven centre pivots assist in the production of fodder cropping for the livestock. The composite flock also provides a large focus of the enterprise with 6,500 ewes producing wool and prime lambs. With safety a focus in all aspects of the business, impressive facilities have been installed, including undercover sheep yards with a capacity for 2,000 to be covered at any one time, Proway bulk handlers, Tepari weighing systems and 6-way auto drafters. Contractors are engaged for lamb marking and crutching and all stock movement is conducted with vehicles or ATVs assisted by working dogs, it is therefore preferable for applicants to have their own quality team. The beef element of the business has seen significant growth in the last four years following the purchase of an additional property for the purpose, with 2,100 breeders being joined in 2026 producing progeny for the trade steer markets. The impressive redevelopment has already seen the installation of new Proway cattle yards and a new 4 bedroom house, with further fencing and water infrastructure to be completed in the coming seasons. As a humble family business, they take great pride in investing in quality machinery and infrastructure to make work more comfortable and enjoyable for their team, but also safer. The modern fleet of machinery is predominantly John Deere utilising John Deere Greenstar GPS, and all team members are involved in the maintenance and repair of the fleet and general farm infrastructure, making mechanical aptitude and fabrication skills advantageous. This is a hands-on role that will see you involved in all aspects of the operation, working directly with the owners and three other team members, all personnel undertake all elements. The majority of work is with the livestock enterprise with time spent on cropping enterprise during seeding and harvest. The Ideal Candidate Preferably, you would have some previous experience in agriculture, particularly livestock; however, the employers are prepared to train the right person. It is also desirable to have the following attributes: Previous livestock experience Cropping knowledge Team of working dogs (or willingness to obtain) Machinery Operation skills with knowledge of GPS systems Mechanical aptitude and fabrication skills Experience or willingness to learn AgriWebb. HC licence (not essential) Willingness to learn.
